Garland
C. Perry,
President & CEO: Was born and raised in Yale,
Virginia,
located in Sussex County,
Virginia.
He
was raised by his single mom from the age of two
after his father died. He is the youngest of eight sister and
one brother. Living in the country were some of the
best days
of his life he says with a smile on his face. They
were poor
but he
didn't know it then. He thought the way they lived was normal
since everybody
around them lived pretty much the same. They lived like
every
other
country
family. They went to school during the school year, worked during the
summers and played
basket ball in
the evenings all year round. He did have dreams of having and
doing
more as
many kids
do, but for him, his dream was always about living a certain life
style. It
was never about money, fame or fortune for him.
It's a
way of
life that he talks about even today. He believe that every
human should be able to live their lives, the way they want
to,
not the way we have to.
Garland
has been
in every
state in the United States of America and has seen a few
foreign countries. He
has talked with other Black Americans in almost all of those states
and found we
all have many of the same dreams and goals.
To sum up what we all share, "It's a way
of life that we seek the most". Fame and fortune may come as an end
result of our knowledge and wisdom, but we usually
don't
start out to
obtain them. People just want to live their lives the way they want to,
have the things they want to have and be able to do the things they to
do, when they want to do them. That's doesn't necessarily means a
person have to be rich to live like that.
We just need
to make enough money to accomplish it. For those who know him
personally, knows his daily pray to God is to help him do all
that
he can to help others accomplish their dreams and
goals.
He knows that it is impossible to provide a useful service to
others and not obtain your own dreams and goals in the process.
Best wishes and success to you all.
